Patriots Vs. Chiefs Live: Start Time, TV Channel, Live Stream Info, Week-1 For Opener

Welcome to game day! The Kansas City Chiefs take on the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 7 in Week 1. Here is all the info you need to watch.

NFL Week 1 of the 2017 season is finally here. As is the annual tradition, things will get kicked off with a Thursday Night Football showdown as the defending champion hosts the opening game. Last season was a rematch as the Carolina Panthers were defeated for a second-time in a row by the Denver Broncos — who had knocked them off in Super Bowl 50.

This time it will be the New England Patriots, fresh off the biggest fourth-quarter comeback in Super Bowl history, hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. These two teams came close to battling for the AFC title, but the No. 2 seeded Chiefs saw their 12-4 season come to an end at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

They now try to get their seasons off to another great start, but there is some drama surrounding them. After losing in the post season they decided it was time to improve at quarterback and they made a big move for Patrick Mahomes out of Texas Tech. He still is on the bench as they continue to roll with Alex Smith. It will be interesting to see how the veteran looks with a young gun lurking over his shoulder.

New England enters on the heels of a 25-point come back, which ended up being the first ever game to go to overtime in Super Bowl history. They look to defend their fifth championship, but have to do so without their top wide receiver as Julian Edelman tore his ACL in the preseason.

Tune in and watch two teams that should be playing well into January. The Pats and the Chiefs will kick off Week 1 with high aspirations for their 2017 season.

Welcome to game day! The Kansas City Chiefs are on the national stage tonight as they visit the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots for the 2017 NFL season opener. This is as big as it gets (outside of the playoffs). The defending champs, the greatest quarterback and coach of our generation, tens of millions of people watching … that’s all!

You can find information here on how to stream the game live online with NBC Sports, how to watch the game on TV (on NBC, duh) as well as the odds, announcers, radio and more!

The Chiefs have faced the Patriots twice with Andy Reid – they won one and they lost one. The most recent loss came in the 2016 Divisional round where the Chiefs were 4.5 ‘dogs entering the game. Tonight, the Chiefs are 9-point ‘dogs. I guess that’s what happens when you raise a banner in front of your fans – Vegas gives you the points.

The NFL has done this season opener with the defending champion hosting the Thursday game since 2004 and the home team has won all but one of them. Additionally, Brady is 51-1 in his last 52 games against AFC teams at home.

There’s plenty going against the Chiefs but they’re no slouches either. Andy Reid is looking to make the playoffs for the fourth year in five tries in Kansas City. The Chiefs are bringing back arguably the best tight end in the NFL in Travis Kelce (take that, Gronk!) and we’re hoping to see a career year out of Alex Smith with the kid, Patrick Mahomes, pushing him from behind. There’s reason to believe the Chiefs will keep this competitive. After all, that’s why the NFL chose the Chiefs for this game. They thought it gave them the best chance at a good game on a big stage like this.

We are hours away at this point. Check your nuts and bolts below and let’s do this…
